OrthoClips: About Us

OrthoClips was developed to enhance orthopaedic surgical education in the digital age on a free platform. Live didactic lectures are often too long, sleep-inducing, and not interactive.  And when you do hear a great lecture, how much can you recall later on?  Ever wish it was recorded so that you could pull out your phone and play it?

Conference time between orthopaedic teachers and learners is better spent discussing patient cases, questions about the material, and highlighting key concepts.  Why spend valuable conference time on one-way delivery of information?

This site is aimed mainly at orthopaedic residents, but practicing surgeons, physician assistants, medical students, and others seeking knowledge on a particular topic will also benefit.  The material presented on this website is intended for educational purposes only, and is not intended to be used as the basis for medical decision-making for any particular patient.

Lectures that are prepared for online consumption, complete with narration and live annotation of slide deck presentations, provide an alternative, “flipped classroom” approach to learning.  Audio podcasts that discuss controversial topics, the latest research, and expert opinions can fill down time.

I hope that this approach and this website helps you as an adjunct to your learning.
